The pit is situated on the lower part of a steep slope on the west side of Rusdalen. Three short holes have been drilled and a 2.5H0.5m pit has been blasted out. The host rock is assumed to be an intrusive of alternating diffuse lighter quartzo-felspathic bands and darker more amphibolitic bands, with a foliation at 338/030. This host is minimum 8m thick and builds a ledge over the pit; it is overlain by a quartzo-felspathic gneiss. The rusty zone around the pit is minimum 5m long and extends spotwise over more than 100m along the strike towards NW. Both rocks are cut by pegmatites. The sulphide mineralization is irregular and consists of semi-massive, networked veins and disseminated pyrrhotite and minor chalcopyrite in the amphibolitic rock. The latter is richer in biotite towards the contact with the sulphides zone.
