En skogsbilvei nord for Notodden går nesten helt fram til forekomsten. Den første muting til Stabbedals kobberverk var på Høymyr gruve den 28.03.1750. Den ble drevet fram til 1761. Flere mutinger ble senere foretatt i perioden 1866-1920. Fire større skjerp med mindre sprengninger imellom ligger på rekke nord-sør. Hovedskjerpet er oppfart med en 5 m bred og 20 m lang N-S orientert dagskjæring i finkornet amfibolitt. Veggene er opptil 6-7 m høye. Amfibolitten er trolig ikke mer enn 10-15 m bred. I vest opptrer fint båndet kvartsitt. Mineraliseringene består av svak disseminasjon av kobberglans som danner 1-2 mm store aggregater, og kobberkis i korte strenger i amfibolitten (prøve TE0019.01). Mineraliseringene har ingen økonomisk interesse. 514083 6606282 I lokaliteten finnes en 4x8 m vannfylt synk med opptil 2,5 m høy skjæring. Kun svak kobberglans disseminasjon er påvist i fast fjell i finkornet amfibolitt (prøve TE0019.02). Korte strenger av bornitt som opptrer i blokker av en kvartsgang ble også prøvetatt (prøve TE0019.03). 514050 6606132 Lokaliteten er et mindre skjerp hvor det er utsprengt i 0,5-1 m dybde nedover flåget i en lengde av 2-4 m langs strøket. Bornitt danner aggregater og kobberkis strenger i amfibolitt (prøve TE0019.04). 514044 6606023 En vannfylt og gjengrodd synk med vegger 4x4 m. Svak bornittmineralisering i finkornet amfibolitt er påvist. Relativt dyp? synk med 100 m3 tipp.
