Forekomsten ligger i en sørskråning 2 km sør for Simonesvihus-forekomsten. En skogsbilvei kan følges fra Heddalsvatnet og vestover opp den bratte lia. Det ble skjerpet omkring 1888 av Compagnie des Mines de Bamble, og videre undersøkelser ble foretatt i perioden 1909-1915. Det er anlagt en skråsynk med vegger 7x3 m. Den skal være 10 m dyp med en 2 m lang ort som går mot nordvest i bunnen. Aggregater og strenger av kobberglans, bornitt og kobberkis i middelskornet, melkehvit til glassklar kvarts er prøvetatt (prøve TE0025.02). Vertsbergarten som trolig er en amfibolitt er ikke blotta ved synken.

Skjerpet er en vannfylt synk med vegger 3x2 m. Amfibolførende sidestein og kvarts med disseminasjon av bornitt+kobberglans ble prøvetatt (prøve TE0025.01).
