Forekomsten ligger i utkanten av et jorde, rett ovenfor en enebolig nær veien opp til Simonesvihus-setra I lokaliteten finnes en inngjerdet og overbygd synk med vegger på 3x5 m og en tipp med volum ca. 20 m3. Den ble drevet i begynnelsen av 1880-årene under ledelse av bergmester Holmsen. Den skal være 18-20 m dyp. Det ble drevet på kalkspatårer med kobbermineraliseringer På tippen dominerer steiner med fin- til middelskornet kvarts-biotitt gneis. Den fører korte strenger og svak disseminasjon av finkornet kobberkis og bornitt. Fast fjell er ikke blottet.
