Hovedforekomsten består av en liten skjæring som er dels fylt med skrot og ligger i en østvendt skråning ca. 20 m vest for skogsbilveien opp mot Aspesæter. Videre ca. 150 m lengre øst opp i skråningen finnes en synk som også er kalt Jøstanrud. I nordveggen i hovedforekomsten er det blottet 2-10 cm brede kvartsårer/-linser i mørk, finkornet sidestein med svak disseminasjon av pyritt. Orienteringen til foliasjonen i hornblendeførende diorittisk gneis like ved er 358°/85°. I tippen som er spredt jevnt utover finnes noen blokker med aggregater av sinkblende, blyglans og pyritt i noe urein kvarts.

Forekomsten består av en N-S orientert, vannfylt synk med sidevegger på 3x1,5 m. Det er dårlig blottet omkring skjerpet , men en omkring 30 cm bred, rustfarget kvartsgang med hulrom etter pyritt? står igjen i sørveggen. Gangens orientering er tilnærmet 10°/85°. Kvartsårebreksje kan anes i nordveggen. Pyritt ser ut til å være dominerende sulfid, men også en større blokk med svak disseminasjon av blyglans i tillegg til pyritt ble påvist.
