Knutstøl skjerp ligger 200 meter øst for setra og i kanten av setervollene. Det består av en grunn grøft, omlag 17 m lang i NV-SØ retning (335°) parallell mineralisering i kvartsganger. Det er flere uregelmessige parallelle kvartsårer med varierende mengder rødlig kalkspat over en bredde på vel en meter. Årene varierer i bredde fra cm/dm-skala til 0.5 m. Mineralisering består av uregelmessige nyrer og aggregater med bornitt og kobberglans. Hematitt opptrer spredt, men er særlig hyppig ut mot sidebergarten i form av uregelmessige aggregater. Finfordelt hematitt opptrer i klorittskifer i kontakt til sidebergarten (grønnstein, metabasalt).
