Forekomsten ligger på sørvestsiden av fjellet Akkesvarri, mellom Øvrevatn og Gaggajav'ri. Det går vei fra E6 nesten opp til forekomsten, men den er stengt med bom. Forekomsten ligger innenfor forsvarets skytefelt. Forekomsten er undersøkt med røsking og en kort synk. Disse arbeidene er trolig utført i årene 1905-1908 og resultatene er beskrevet av Nordenskjøld (1909). Mineraliseringen består av disseminert bornitt, kobberkis og magnetitt som bånd i lys, båndet kvartsitt. De samme mineralene sammen med hematitt finnes også som gangfyllinger i massiv amfibolitt. Amygdaloidal amfibolitt ligger over kvartsitten og en 1,5m mektig benk massiv amfibolitt ligger under. Derunder finnes karbonat. Denne sekvensen kan følges mot nordvest og sørøst og alle forekomstene med navnet Akkesvarri ligger i dette nivået. Forekomsten er av samme type som Briitajav'rit (FI0053).
