Description
Dolomittdraget har sitt største utgående rundt Kvislaseter der mektigheten kan komme opp i rundt 100 m. Ellers langs strøket har dolomitten en mektighet på 10-15 m.

Forekomsten strekker seg som et drag fra Halsaunet i SV til Bokneklumpen i NØ, en strekning på 6-7 km. Dolomittdraget har sitt største utgående ved Kvislaseter, ca 7 km fra riksvei 723. Her har dolomitten en bredde på 100 til 150 m over en strekning på 300 m. I 1989 ble det utført packsack-boring i 8 vertikale hull med en total lengde på 130 m. Dolomitten er hovedsaklig hvit med endel forurensinger av talk, diopsid og kvarts. Gjennomsnittlig dolomittinnhold ligger på 65%. Jordbrukskalk synes å være en mulig anvendelse.

Abstract:
Undersøkelsen ble konsentrert rundt den nederste delen av et ca. 20-30 m bredt karbonatdrag fra Boknklumpen i NØ og ned til det sted hvor Kvislaelva renner ut i Langevann. Prøve fra dette området viste 97% dolomitt. Området er røsket, og karbonatdraget er funnet å være ca. 15-20 m bredt. Marmoren står steilt og stryker parallelt elven. I første omgang anbefales prøvedrift i det området som ligger mellom broen og ned mot det sted hvor Kvislaelva skifter retning. Innen dette området vet man at dolomitt-marmoren er fast og lite foliert. Det området som ligger driftsmessig best tilrette er oppe ved Kvislaseter. Her ligger dolomittmarmoren over elvas nivå med høyeste punkt ca. 30 m over, og herfra jevnt fallende terreng mot elven. Bredden av sonen er her ca. 100-150 m. For å nytte denne delen av forekomsten, må det imidlertid anlegges ca. 5 km med vei. Ved Kvislaseter vil en kunne ta ut ca. 450 000 m3 dolomitt.

Abstract:
Som en del av det samordnede geologiske undersøkelsesprogram for Nord- Trøndelag og Fosen er det blitt utført diamantboring ved Kvislaseter, Halsaunet dolomittfelt. Det ble boret totalt 130 m med PACSAC fordelt på 8 loddrette hull.Hull nr.4 ble avsluttet på 7.9 m og hull nr. 7 på 2.7 m, alle andre hull ble boret ned til 20 m. Dolomitten i borhullene er hoved- sakelig hvit og grovkornet, men i endel mindre partier opptrer forurensninger av kvarts, phlogopitt, talk, diopsid, epidot og noe svovelkis. I noen partier opptrer også tynne horisonter av glimmerskifer. 64 analyser av dolomitten ga følgende gjennomsnittlige sammensetning: Si02 10.02%, Al203 1.42%, Fe203 0.35%, MgO 17.89%, CaO 30.49%, Na20 0.33%, K20 0.16%, MnO 0.02%, P205 0.06% (XRF ANALYSER). Analyser av syreløslig CaO og MgO ga følgende gjennomsnitt: CaO 29.01%, MgO 14.26%, dette tilsvarer et dolomittinnhold på 65.21%. Hvithetsmålinger ga følgende gjennomsnitt: FMX 87.67%, FMY 87 51%, FMZ 86,54%, R457 86,43%, men 50% av borkjernene har en hvithet på 90 (FMY) eller bedre. Jordbrukdskalk synes å være det beste bruks- området for forekomsten.

Abstract:
Etter anmodning fra Åfjord kommune har NGU kartlagt og vurdert et dolomitt- drag i Kvisladalen. Dolomittdraget, som ligger i en formasjon av glimmerskifre og amfibolitt (Gulagruppen, kambrosilur), er kartlagt i målestokk 1:5000 over en lengde på ca. 5 km fra vei. I dette området har dolomittdraget en bredde i dagen på fra 100 til 150 m over en lengdeutstrekning på ca. 300 m. Området er imidlertid sterkt overdekket, og det er derfor anbefalt et sonderende dia- mantborprogram for å få belyst: - dolomittdragets mektighet - dolomittens kvalitet
