Forekomsten består av svovelkis impregnasjon i tuff tilhørende Nussirgruppen. Bergarten er foldet i flere åpne folder med nordøstlig, 60-80 grader, stupende foldeakser. Foldenes maksimale bølgelengde er omkring 4 meter. Foldene skjæres av vertikale sprekker som representerer akseplankløv. Disse har en orientering på N20/90. Mineraliseringen er ofte anriket langs akseplankløven, og særlig i foldekjernene. Kiskrystallene har en størrelse på 1-2mm. I tillegg opptrer også svovelkismineraliserte kvarts-kalsittårer. Årenes mektighet varierer rundt 0,5cm. Rene karbonatårer, tydelig deformert sammen med vertsbergarten, opptrer også. Den største av disse, blottet i snitt, måler 35 x 15 cm.
