The Bachke deposit was discovered in 1900 and mining was carried out periodically by several companies until 1931. Mining exploited four parallel quartz-carbonate veins that are up to 100 m long and 1–1.5 m thick. The veins are hosted by greenstones of the Nussir Group and have a NW strike and a variable but generally steep dip. The main sulphide minerals are chalcopyrite and pyrite, and magnetite and haematite occur in subordinate amounts. Uraninite is an accessory mineral in crosscutting veinlets. The vein matrix is composed of quartz, calcite, albite, chlorite and wall rock fragments. |

Kjemisk analyse av malm, kobberkonsentrat og flotasjonsavgang er presentert. Gruvedriften ble avsluttet i 1929. |

Uranium mineralizations have been discovered in the northwest part of the Komagfjord tectonic window. The mineralizations are found in two mines of the old Porsa-Neverfjord copper mining district. Pitchblende and brannerite occur as primary minerals. Black slates are considered to be the source rocks of the uranium-bearing fluids. |

Vurderinger av gjenstående malm i Bachkes gruve, Puntervolds gang og Schutz gruve er gjort. Mineraliseringene i Bachkes gruve antaes å ha økonomisk intresse. Videre undersøkelser anbefales i alle tre gruver. |

Abstract: | |
The report is based on four summers (1956-59) of field work in an area of approximately 860 km2. The area is located in western Finnmark, northern Norway, between 70 degrees 10' and 70 degrees 31' N latitude and 12 degrees 40' and 13 degrees 50' E Oslo longitude. The purpose of the investigation was to study the rocks within a hitherto mainly unexamined area of Precambrian rocks surrounded by Caledonian rocks. Portions of the area near the sea had been visited by a few geologists prior to the initiation of this investigation. It was therefor quite certain that the rocks were Precambrian in age and constituted a window in the Caledonides, but the size of the window was unknown nor had most of the window been studied geologically. This report establishes the Precambrian age of the rocks and delineates the boundaries of the window. The Precambrian rocks along the western coast of Finnmark were previously called the Raipas formation and known to outcrop in (at least) two windows. As this report differentiates seven formations which constitute two groups whithin the Komagfjord (the northernmost) tectonic window, it is purposed that the Precambrian rocks of the two windows be known as the Raipas suite. |

Forekomsten ligger på østsida av elva i Vesterdalen, ca. 240 m rett øst for Malakittskjerpene. Den består av en 1,2 m bred og 1,5 m høy stoll som minst er 20 m lang. Retningen på stollen er 170°. Kobbermalmen finnes i en minst 10 cm bred karbonatgang som ligger i grønnstein. Gangen fører hyppig linser/slirer av sidesteinen og det er skarp kontakt til denne. Kobberkis opptrer som aggregater i karbonat og i strenger/årer langs kontakten mellom karbonatgangen og grønnsteinen. Grønnsteinen er finkornet, mørk grønn og magnetittførende. En tipp med volum ca. 50 m3 ligger nedover lia. |

Forekomsten ligger på østsida av elva i Vesterdalen, ca. 120 m rett øst for Hans gruve. Den består av en 15 m lang dagskjæring som er opptil 6-7 m høy. Skjæringa ender i sør i et mindre, uregelmessig tverrslag. Kobberkis finnes på flere subparallelle, tilnærmet vertikale karbonatårer som er 1-10 cm brede. Det er trolig flere faser med avsetning av fin- til grovkornet karbonat i årene. Den siste i korte ekstensjonsårer/-linser. Kobberkis danner aggregater og er disseminert i årene. Sidesteinen er mørk grønnstein som i Hans gruve. En tipp med volum ca. 50 m3 ligger nedover lia. |
