Forekomsten ligger like sjøkanten ved den gamle jernbanetraseen for Bergensbanen. En liten tunnel går inn på undersiden av jernbanen. Kalken er grålig-hvit og finkornet. Mektighet som er blottet er ca. 15 meter. Kalken synes urein og en del oppblandet med glimmerskifer, men i tynne soner finnes rein kalk med et CaO innhold på ca. 49% og MgO på 0.51%. dette tilsvarer et kalkspat innhold på ca. 87%.
