Geitberget er et mindre skjerp på en knaus omgitt av myr. Skjerpet er opptil 1 m dypt med sidevegger 3x2,5 m og har åpning mot sør. Mindre sprenging er også utført 3-4 m lengre nord på knausen. Mineraliseringen opptrer i grønnstein som tilhører Sulåmoformasjonen (Turifossgrønnstein). To mineraliseringstyper finnes. Massiv, finkornet, båndet pyritt-sinkblende malm med mindre mengder kobberkis finnes kun i blokker på tippen som totalt utgjør ca. 2-3 m3. Den er minst 10 cm mektig. I skjerpet finnes pyritt, kobberkis og sinkblende i få cm-tynne, massive striper/linser og disseminert i klorittisert grønnstein. Linsene er orientert tilnærmet N-S med tilnærmet steilt fall.
