| During the middel of the 1970s Norsk Hydro, investigated the nepheline-syenite of the Lågen valley, with respect to raw materials for Al metal production using a modified version of the Russian so called Volkow process. The most promising area was found SE of the lake Anundsjøeen. An area of about 1.5 km was mappen and it was found Nepheline contents of op to 35%, which for a large part is altered to sodalite. The nepheline mineral has a chemistry about 45% SiO2, 33.5 Al2O3,15.5% Na2O og5.3 % K2O.
