Et ganske stort nedlagt kalksteinsbrudd, et av de mange bruddene i Holeområdet. Bruddet er 150x150 meter. Kalken er urein med mye slirer av leirskifer, lagningen står vertikalt. Forekomsten er ikke idrift i dag. Det nærliggenden Hole kalkverk er i drift. Kjemiske analyser viser en variasjon 47 til 52 % syreløslig CaO og fra 0.47 til 3.52% syreløslig MgO. dette gjør at kalken er litt dolomittisk med et normativt dolomitt innhold på opptil 16%. Uløst andel varierer fra 5 til ca. 8%. |
