Description

Dette er den største dagåpningen i Bårstad-området. Lengden på bruddet er ca. 100 m, bredden på bredeste ca. 25 m og dybden 10-20 m. Klebersteinen her er grovkornet og "feit", dvs. talkrik. Fargen varierer fra nesten hvit til mørk grønn. I nyere tid har den uttatte massen utelukkende gått til nedknusing i mølle like ved bruddet og så brukt til industriformål. Usikkert om det er tatt ut blokkstein for natursteinsformål her.

Location

Bårstad-bruddene ligger i lia ca. 1 km øst for Rv15 og ca. 2 km nord for Lalm.

Abstract:

Rapporten gir en petrrografisk beskrivelse av noen prøver fra Bårstad og Nyseter klebersteinsforekomster. Samtlige prøver er talk- og magnesittrike klebersteiner. Talkinnholdet varierer fra 65 til 70% og magnesittinnholdet fra 14 til 28%. Ingen av prøvene inneholder nevneverdig mengde av serpentin eller andre asbestlignende mineraler. Prøvene er analysert med XRF og Leco CO2 analysator.

Bruddet antas å være det eldste i Bårstad-området grunnet tydelige hakkespor på bruddveggen. Stor blokk har rast ut fra veggen, og fremdeles er her rasfare.
