Litologisk kode : Postkaledonsk, overflatebergart
Beskrivelse : 10000 km2 stor enhet mellom Trøndelagsplattformen i øst og Råsunder- bassenget i vest. Omgitt av fork.kompl i V,S og Ø, smalner av/kiler ut mot enheter i N. Kretaiske avsetn 1.2 km, tertiære 2 km. Juraiske sed. er mer teknonisk påvirket. På terrassen opptrer det et komplekst mønster av normalfork. av ulike alder i tohovedretninger (N-lig og NNØ-lig). Disse gir enheten rombiske form. Rift-betinget dannelse. Omfatter Sklinnaryggen (i vest), Grindgrabenen, Kyaforkastningssonen, Gjeslinglineamentet, Gimsbassenget
