A southern continuation of the iron formation at Skravlåga occurs in the Buktelv area. The outcrops along the river is not as accessible and good as along Skravlåga, but the IF can be observed at several localities along a path on the north side of the river and along the ridge northeastwards towards Ruadrabben. Banded, fine grained iron formations with magnetite disseminations in calcareous epidote-amphibole rich matrix exist (Samples JS_FE1723-24). The IF is from 8 to 30 m thick and it is in contact with garnet-mica schist in the southeast. There might exist two horizons of IF in this area, but detailed mapping is needed to confirm this.

Lok. Nr. 40007, 40455, 40456, 40458-40460. Rapporten beskriver en 1-dags befaring av Elsfjord kis- og jernmalmfelter 1946 Stien kisgruve. Malmen er avdekket med 2 dagskjæringer og 1 synk hvor mineraliseringen er impregnasjon av kobber- og magnetkis. Øvre Stien. Forrustet gangsone uten økonomisk verdi. Toven jernmalmfelt. Forekomsten er avdekket med en røsk hvor mineraliseringen er striper av magnetitt.

Abstract:
Lok. Nr. 40455, 40456, 40458, 40460 Rapporten er en utredning som bygger på tidligere beskrivelser av J. C. Torgersen og professor J. H. L. Vogt. Mineraliseringene er vanlig sedimentær jernmalm av Dunderlandstypen, men malmleiene er mindre. Følgende malmfelt blir beskrevet: Seljelidfeltet Stormofeltet Davemofeltet Fuglestrand-, Skravlå- og Drevasfeltet. Mineraliseringen er magnetitt og hematitt og metallinnholdet er ca. 35% - 40 % Fe.

Abstract:
Rapporten behandler Elsfjord Kisgruve (Flatmogruven) Forekomsten er avdekket med 8 m lang skjæring og mineralisering opptrer som impregnasjon av svovel- og magnetkis i kvartsittisk skifer. Forekomsten ligger i et kisdrag hvor det er kjent flere kismineraliseringer. Videre undersøkelser av gruva og kisdraget er ønsket.

A wide section of the Buktelv iron formation and rock sequence is exposed along a 100 m long, W-E orientated, steep stream section along Stillbekken. Banded marble occurs in the lowermost part in the west. Upstream dominate greyish green, calcareous amphibolitic schist with 0.5-1 m thick layers of more massive and homogenous banded and fine grained IF as observed further south (Sample JS_FE1725). Undisputable diamictite was not observed in this area.
