A 12 km long zone of iron formation has previously been registered from the northern end of Tustervatnet, along the shore at the east side and across the lake to the southwestern shores (e.g. Gjelle et al, 2003). Only at Vallavikneset, by the eastern shore in the middle part of the lake, IF was observed during field work in July 2017. A 5 m wide zone of calcareous amphibole-mica schist occurs between intensely folded and banded marble at Vallavikneset. Magnetite is enriched in cm-thin, massive bands and as dissemination within a one meterthick part of this zone (Samples JS_FE1738-39).

Abstract:
I forbindelse med den påtenkte oppdemming av Røssågas vestre utløp fra Tustervatn, gikk oppgaven ut på å bestemme overdekkets mektighet i et område som var begrenset av en linje 50 meter nedenfor den prosjekterte damakse og en annen linje 50 meter nedenfor denne. Målingene ble utført etter vanlig seismisk refraksjonsmetode. Resultatene av målingene er vist i profiler samt i et nivåkart over det undersøkte område.

Abstract:
Befaring av jernmalmfunn ved Tustervatn, ca. 10 km. SØ for Bleikvassli. 2 funn av magnetitt, glimmerskifer og karbonat med lave gehalter. Ett funn av rik magnetittmalm antas å være løsblokk. Videre undersøkelser frarådes.
