Description

Klebersteinen er omvandlet fra ultramafiske linser. Det finnes en rekke linser i området på ryggen mellom Sisovatn og Løytavatn, og dennes fortsettelse østover mot svenskegrensen. Ultramafittene sitter i dekket som ligger under Gasakdekket (Kollung 1986,1989). I varierende grad er disse linsene omvandlet til kleberstein. Sidesteinen til ultramafittene er glimmerskifer. Nede i Veiskidalen, på vestsiden av elva fra Veiskivatn til Sisovatn, opptrer en eller to linser med mafiske finkornede diabasganger. Disse splitter ultramafitten og gjennomskjærer også klebersteinen med avkjølingskontakt. Det største utgående av kleberstein finnes ned imot elva mellom Veiskivatn og Sisovatn, med utgående på noen få hundre m2. Det er ikke observert bruk av klebersteinen. Vurdering Linsen i Veiskidalen ligger langt inne i fjellet men det ble i 2009 bestemt at det skal arbeides med å sette opp en ny turbin for kraftproduksjon mellom Veiskivatn og Sisovatn i et samarbeid mellom Elkem og Statskog. Om dette blir realisert betyr det at det blir bygd vei helt inn til linsa i Veiskidalen. Dermed kan logistikken for forekomsten bli forbedret. Mineralogi Klebersteinens hovedmineraler er talk og magnesitt. I underordnet mengde fører den kloritt og aksessorik litt oksyder. Forvitringsfargen er lys uten rust som tyder på at evt. innold av sulfid er lavt. I ultramafitten er det et par steder registrert små pods av kromitt.

Historic

Klebersteinen i området ble først kartlagt og registrert i 2007.

Location

Den ultramafiske linsa som er betegnet Veiskidalen (Lindahl & Nilsson 2012) ligger innenfor østenden av Sisovatnet i dalføret som er avløp fra Veiskivatnet til Sisovatnet. Adkomst til området er ved å bruke anleggsvei fra Straumen i Sørfold til innerste enden av Sisovatn (”Siso-katedralen”). Derfra er det ca. 3 km til utramafittlinsene i Veiskidalen som ligger i åpent lende.

Abstract:

The eugeoclinal rocks of the Sulitjelma region occup a large depression in the Norwegian Caldonodrd betwwen the Nasafjell tectonic window of Precambrian rocks in the south and the Tysfjord window in the north. The age of the rocks is thought to be Cambro-Silurian. The regionl metamophism is mainly in greenschist facies in the lower units, amphibolite facies in the Gasak Nappe and greenschist to amphibolite facies in the Fauske Nappe. Some of the largest sulphide deposits in Norway are located near Sulitjelma. The different types of mineralizations occurring in the region are briefly described.
