The Harelifjell U mineralisation is hosted in an alkali granite-crosscutting aplite. The mineralised aplite contains uraninite as the major U phase. Hydrothermal fluids that operated during the Caledonian orogeny are interpreted to have been responsible for the enrichment of U in the aplite. Lindahl (1984) describes elevated U and Th contents for the alkali granite that hosts the U-mineralised aplite. |

Rishaugfjellvinduet og Harelifjell uranmineralisering. |
;Norges geologiske undersøkelse;FAGRAPPORT;NGU-rapport; No.84.057;131 pages |
Abstract: | |

Radiometriske målinger, prøvetaking av Pack-sack-boringer på Harelifjell. |
;Norges geologiske undersøkelse;FAGRAPPORT;NGU-rapport; No.84.005;35 pages |
Abstract: | |

Classification of uranium mineralization in Norway. |
;Norges geologiske undersøkelse;TIDSSKRIFTARTIKKEL;NGU; No.380;125-142 pages |
Abstract: | |
NGU has carried out exploration for uranium on a small but varying scale since the second World War. An attempt is made to classify types of uranium mineralization occuring in Norway, following a system based on genetic types. Allthough difficulties are encountered in applying the classification, it has proved possible to categorize many of the occurences in this way. Information on some occurences is limited, and future revisions must be expected. The uranium mineralizations described are from all parts of the country, and range from Proterozoic to Lower Paleozoic in age. The most prominent and promising occurences are largely of sedimentary, intrusive, metamorphic and supergene origin, the most promising of which are found in the region of northern Nordland. As yet no uranium deposits of importance have been forund, based on prevailing metal prices, bur insufficient work has been done on a number of known occurences and the potential for the existence of economic deposits in Norway has been assessed as good. |
