Description
Hovedskjerpet er markert med en mutingsbolt med no.2. Det består av en ca. 15 m lang grøft på tvers av strøket. I nedre del er det blottlagt mørk grønnskifer i ca. 1 m mektighet. Omtrent midt i grøfta er det blottlagt en ca. 1m mektig sone med stripet impregnasjon til semimassiv mineralisering dominert av finkornet pyritt med underordnet sinkblende. De rikeste stripene er typisk 1-5 cm mektige og er omgitt av klorittisk kvarts-sericittskifer. Det er også stedvis litt kobberkis. Over malmsonen følger båndet klorittisk grønnskifer.

Mineraliseringen er ved røsking fulgt over en strøklengde på vel 500 m på østsiden av øvre Elsvatnet. Mineraliseringen ble funnet av Boliden på midten av 60-tallet på grunnlag av blokkleting. Det ble utført bakkegeofysikk og røsket på en rekke steder langs strøket. Mineralsering består av noen cm til opptil 0.5 m mektige lag og linser av finkornet pyritt med varierende mengder sinkblende og kobberkis i kvarts-sericitt+/-kloritt matriks. Boliden prøvetok på tvers av de mineraliseringerte i alle røskene med unntak av no.9 og fant følgende verdier (inklusive også umineraleriserte partier): no.1: 0.5 m @ 0.2 % Cu, 0.2 % Zn, 1 g/t Ag, 9.6 % S no.2: 2.0 m @ 0.6 % Cu, 2.3 % Zn, 3 g/t Ag 14.5 % S no.3: 1.9 m @ 1.4 % Cu, 0.3 % Zn, 2 g/t Ag, 7.9 % S no.4: 2.0 m @ 0.3 % Cu, 0.2 % Zn, 1 g/t Ag, 9.7 % S no.5: 0.7 m @ 2.6 % Cu, 0.8 % Zn, 7 g/t Ag, 26 % S no.6: 0.8 m @ 0.2 % Cu, 0.7 % Zn, 1 g/t Ag, 4.7 % S no.7: 0.5 m @ 0.5 % Cu, 0.9 % Zn, 4 g/t Ag, 27.3 % S no.8: 1.0 m @ 0.3 % Cu, 0.1 % Zn, 2 g/t Ag, 4.1 % S I 1967 boret Boliden et pack-sack borhull som gjennomskar 2.41 m impregnasjon av pyritt, kobberkis og sinkblende. Analyser og stedfesting av borhull mangler. Vertsbergart er en båndet grønnskifer som dels er karbonatrik og antakelig av tuffittisk opphav. Denne har en mektighet på kanskje 50-75 m og er overlagret av en dels grafittrik fyllittisk skifer. Under er det en dels karbonatrik fyllitt. På samme stratigrafiske nivå i vestre del av Elsvatnet er det tilsvarende mineralisering. Også her ble det røsket, gjort geofysikk og utført to boringer med pack-sack utstyr av Boliden på 60-tallet. De to boringene i vestre del viste henholdsvis 0.4 m og 1.89 m med pyritt-impregnasjon med noe kobberkis (analyser mangler).

Mutingsbolt merket no.7: 8 m lang NV-SØ-gående grunn avblotningsgrøft, langs strøket. Det er ikke sprengt. Generelt kvarts-sericitt-skifer, dels med lag av kloritt som inneholder svak til rik pyritt-impregnasjon, dels sinkblendeholdige (Prøve NO0503.01). Pyrittkornene er fra <<1 mm til 2 mm store. Enkelte opptil 5-7 cm linser med massiv finkornet pyritt med noe sinkblende og lokalt også kobberkisrike (Prøver NO0503.02, Hatt 16-6, Hatt 16-7).

På vestsiden av øvre Elsvatnet er det mineralisering i antatt samme nivå som på østsiden av vannet. På lokaliteten er det utbrudt 1 kbm i elvekant. Bergarten er en foldet klorittisert grønnskifer med kvartsbånd som inneholder svak pyritt-disseminasjon (5-10%py) over minst 1.5 m mektighet. Det er også enkelte "klyser" av kobberkis, samt gedigent kobber. Sinkblende opptrer spredt. Sonen er blottlagt flere steder vestover over neset langs elva.
