An approximately one meter thick IF is exposed in a roadcut west of Øynes on the north side of Beiarfjorden.It is overlying an impure calcite marble with elongated carbonate and quartz lenses. The lower part of the IF consists of a 20-30 cm thick layer of semi-massive magnetite in banded pyroxene-amphibole-quartz rock. It is overlain by a 30-40 cm thick mafic rock with disseminated magnetite. On top occur a > 30 cm layer of massive to semi-massive magnetite in finely banded pyroxene-amphibole-quartz rock (Samples JSFE15.10-12).
