The iron formation is exposed along the riverbeds of Drevja, ca. 2 km SSW of Almåsen. An approximately 8 m thick sequence of IF is found on the northern side of the riverbank and consists of finely banded, cm-scale magnetite ore in a calcareous amphibolitic matrix (Sample JS_FE1701-02). The strike and dip of the banding is 235°/65°. Calcareous amphibole-mica schist in the west is intensely small-scale folded. Similar schist in the east is locally enriched in disseminated magnetite (Sample JS_FE1703).
