Forekomsten omfatter et større område (ca. 200x300 m) med mange sjakter, røsk og stoller. Rundt disse finnes en mengde tipper med forskjellig materiale, vesentlig gråberg med grå, biotittrik, dels tett isoklinalfoldet skifer. I området rundt gruva sees mange parallelle kvartslinser/-ganger i bergarten, og på tippen ved nedre hovedstoll finnes mye kvartsmateriale (hydrotermalkvarts). Malmen består av en rekke linjaler med kort lateral utbredelse; det geofysiske anomalibildet (EM-målinger 1948) viser dette, samt at mange anomalier ikke ble undersøkt (røsket) i gruvens driftsperiode. Foldestrukturer i ulik skala gir lite representative målinger av strøk/fall, slik at de angitte tall representerer den generelle trenden. Iselve malmen sees den typiske metamorfe "durchbewegung"-tekstur. Malmen domineres av en po-cp-type, mens py-cp(-sl)-malm er sjeldnere. På tippen synes forholdet mellom disse å være 20:1 eller 30:1. Hovedsjakta er inngjerdet og dels nedrast, slik at prøvetaking ikke var tilrådelig. I andre røsk sees <30-40 cm mektige malmsoner med po-cp-malm. Ellers finnes noe finfordelt po og cp i sidebergarten.

Abstract:
The occurences described in this paper form a connection between th mining districts around Røros to the south and those around Meråker to the north. The occurences lie in mountain regions partly above the forest line. The list on page 12 contains the names of all known occurrences of whatever size within the district considered. Pl. I is a geological outline map of the district, compiled from maps in the Norwegian Geological Survey. In a geological summary on pages 18-27 it is shown that no pyrite occurrences of economic importance so far have been found in an eastern zone along the Swedish boundary where the rocks consist of hard schist with sparagmites, and igneous rocks. Neither have such occurrences been found in a zone of "Stuedalsskifer" and an other zone of "Gulaskifer" towards west, both indicated on the map. The occurrences of pyrite are chiefly found in connection with fine grained, light green or gravish, partly feldspar bearing schist and in connection with green schists, mostly fine grained hornblende schists. All these zones of schist gnereally strike north and dip west. The pyrite bearing schist lie on both sildes of a large zone of igneous rocks extending from Kjølifjell in the south over Hyllingen and Melshogna to Fangen in the Meråker district in the north.
