Forekomsten er blottet på jordene rundt de 3 ytterste husene ved Haugsneset, Det er blottet en 2 meter bred kompakt grafittskifer som kan følges med EM under overdekkning over en distanse på minst 200 meter. I 1952 befarte Henrich Neuman forekomsten han fant at grafittskiferen hadde en bredde på ca. 10 meter. Grafittskiferen er fet og meget rik, kjemiske analyser viser gehalter fra 12 til 33 % grafitt. På østesiden av haugsneset er det noen minere blottninger nede ved sjøen som viser en noe fattigere grafittskifer. Forekomsten må anses som interessant, men opptrer i et svært overbygd området. Forekomstens beliggenhet og strøk viser at grafitt draget fra Sommarland kan følges helt ned til Haugsneset dvs. en avstand på ca. 6 km.
