Forekomsten utgjør et stort kalksteinsdrag som ligger på østsiden av sjøen Grønningen. Kalken utgjør samme stratigrafiske nivå som Tromsdal-forekomstene lenger nord. Kalken er grålig, båndet og har varierende renhet. Reservene er store.
