Bruddet som ligger like ovenfor veien ut til Laukhammer er ca. 10x10 meter. Det har vært drevet på en meget urein kalkstein med mye forurensende silikater og slirer av fyllit. Mektigheten vertikalt er minimum 10 meter. Ca. 100 meter fra bruddet nede ved sjøen ligger restene av en kalkovn der kalken ble brent. Kalken har et CaO og MgO innhold på 45.05 og 4.83% som tilsvarer et kalkspatinnhold på 77.79%
